WoW Forever Tailoring Leveling Guide 1–300

· recipe data from the WoW Forever beta client 1.60.1.70170

Tailoring needs no gathering profession: everything starts as cloth that humanoids drop while you level. That makes it the cheapest crafting profession to level alongside questing, and it pairs with Enchanting, which turns the green items you sew into enchanting materials.

Work in progress until launch on 4 November. Built from the beta client's recipe data, so numbers can still change. How this guide is made

The last 30 points270–300

Forever's data has no trainer or vendor pattern that carries a tailor cheaply from 270 to 300: the Runecloth patterns that did it in Classic now go grey around 280. These are the options that still give points this high, with where each comes from. Until launch settles where Forever's new patterns are sold, most tailors will finish with a Timbermaw pattern or a drop.

  • Wisdom of the Timbermawlearn at 255 · yellow at 270 · grey at 300

8 Bolt of Runecloth, 3 Essence of Earth, 3 Living Essence, 2 Ironweb Spider Silk · Pattern: Wisdom of the Timbermaw, skill 255 · sold by Meilosh (Winterspring)

Meilosh at Timbermaw Hold, once you are Honored with the Timbermaw. Known source, but eight runecloth bolts and three Living Essence a craft make it the dearest way through.

  • Earthenweave Crownlearn at 260 · yellow at 275 · grey at 305

6 Bolt of Runecloth, 3 Essence of Earth, 1 Rune Thread · Pattern: Earthenweave Crown, skill 260 · new in Forever; where it comes from is not confirmed

New in Forever and the cheapest per point of the patterns that reach 300, if its source turns out to be a vendor.

  • Earthenweave Cuffslearn at 255 · yellow at 270 · grey at 300

5 Bolt of Runecloth, 1 Essence of Earth, 1 Rune Thread · Pattern: Earthenweave Cuffs, skill 255 · new in Forever; where it comes from is not confirmed

Another new Earthenweave pattern, grey at 300: fine to 285, slow after.

  • Runecloth Shoulderslearn at 260 · yellow at 275 · grey at 305

7 Bolt of Runecloth, 2 Ironweb Spider Silk, 4 Rugged Leather, 1 Rune Thread · Pattern: Runecloth Shoulders, skill 260 · a drop, not sold by vendors

A Classic drop pattern; no rare reagents.

  • Mantle of the Timbermawlearn at 290 · yellow at 305 · grey at 334

5 Mooncloth, 5 Essence of Earth, 5 Living Essence, 2 Ironweb Spider Silk · Pattern: Mantle of the Timbermaw, skill 290 · sold by Meilosh (Winterspring)

Meilosh again, at Revered, and only from 290. Five Mooncloth a craft, and Mooncloth has a four-day cooldown.

About this guide

Forever rebuilt the tailoring curve. Recipes turn yellow and grey between 20 and 45 points earlier than in Classic, most often 35, and the Runecloth patterns by the full 45, so a Classic guide keeps you on recipes long after they stop giving points. The trainers moved with them: bolts of silk are made from 100 in the beta, not Classic's 125. The route below follows Forever's numbers, and it makes the bolts it needs on the way, so most bolt steps cost nothing extra.

WoW Forever launches on 4 November 2026, so this guide is a work in progress. Skill colours, reagents and craft counts come from the beta client, so they are what Forever ships today but can still change, and the beta stops short of Artisan, so the top of the route is computed rather than played. Craft counts include the extra crafts a recipe needs once it turns yellow. Trainer locations and learn levels are Classic's, adjusted where Forever moved a recipe. We rebuild the guide whenever the client changes.

Tailoring trainers

Any trainer starts you off and most teach Journeyman. Expert and Artisan are taught by fewer, marked in your faction's colour. Hover a coordinate for its TomTom command.

Tailoring camp objects

Camping is new in Forever: a campfire built by a cook, with room for objects each profession makes. Anyone resting at the camp gets their effects.

  • Faction Banner from skill 20

32 Spirit, for your own faction only

  • Spinning Wheel from skill 140

  • Loom from skill 300

Needed for the most advanced Tailoring recipes

Why the Classic route is wrong for Forever

A Classic tailoring guide has you sewing Gloves of Meditation from 150, Mageweave Bags from 240 and Runecloth Bags from 260. In Forever's client those recipes turn yellow at 125, 205 and 230. A Classic guide's numbers are not slightly off. They put you on a recipe after it has stopped giving points.

The compression is worst at the top. Classic's Runecloth patterns, which used to carry a tailor from 260 to 300, now run out around 280. That is why the last fifteen points above depend on a pattern whose source is not confirmed, and why this is the step most likely to change before launch.

Merchant's Favor patterns

The trade camps sell tailoring patterns for Merchant's Favor too, mostly sets in six flavours (black pearl, fire, water, gold, golden pearl and radiant shard versions of the same cuffs, waistcords, gloves and sandals). They take Forever's new Magenta and Cerulean dyes, which alchemists make, and they are expensive leveling for what they give. Buy them for the gear.

If you want the item rather than the profession, have it delivered to your character.

Frequently asked questions

How do you level tailoring 1–300 in WoW Forever?

Linen bolts and belts to 50, wool bolts and capes to 100, silk bolts to 120, silk hoods, shirts and Crimson Silk to 180, Black Mageweave to 205, then Runecloth bolts, belts, gloves and boots to 270. The last 30 points need a Timbermaw reputation pattern or a drop, at least until launch shows where Forever's new patterns are sold.

Is the Classic tailoring guide still right for WoW Forever?

No. Forever moved most tailoring recipes between 20 and 45 points earlier, most often 35. Following a Classic guide leaves you making recipes that are already green or grey.

How much cloth does tailoring 1–300 take?

To 270 on this route, roughly 70 linen, 170 wool, 740 silk, 275 mageweave and 1,400 runecloth. The shopping list above has the exact numbers.

What should I pair with tailoring?

Enchanting. Tailoring needs no gatherer, and disenchanting the green items you make feeds enchanting for free.

Where do you learn Artisan tailoring?

From Timothy Worthington in Theramore, Dustwallow Marsh (Alliance) or Daryl Stack in Tarren Mill, Hillsbrad (Horde), at skill 200 and level 35.

What does the tailoring camp object do?

The Faction Banner, from skill 20, gives everyone resting at the camp Spirit, 32 at level 60, for your own faction only. Tailors can also build a Spinning Wheel at 140 and a Loom at 300.

Can I still make Mooncloth?

Yes, from the same vendor pattern, but the beta client gives it a cooldown of almost four days, so it is not a leveling recipe.
