WoW Forever Alchemy Leveling Guide 1–300

· recipe data from the WoW Forever beta client 1.60.1.70170

Alchemy in WoW Forever levels from 1 to 300 the way it did in Classic, with one large difference: every healing potion now belongs to First Aid. Minor, Lesser, plain, Greater, Superior and Major Healing Potions were the backbone of almost every Classic alchemy route, so the Classic guides you will find are wrong for Forever at six separate points. This route replaces each of those steps with what the Forever client actually offers at that skill.

Work in progress until launch on 4 November. Built from the beta client's recipe data, so numbers can still change. How this guide is made

Free with the profession: Forever teaches it the moment you learn Alchemy. One Peacebloom a craft.

Or: 9× Elixir of Minor Force (1 Silverleaf, 1 Empty Vial). The other free starter recipe. Use it if Silverleaf is cheaper than Peacebloom.

  2. 10–55

    45×Elixir of Minor Defense–45Silverleaf,45Peacebloom,45Empty Vial

Free when you learn the professionChanged in Forever

  5. 65–90

Trainer, at skill 50 · 2s 25c · turns yellow at 80, so the count is an average

  4. 145–160

    16×Elixir of Lesser Defense–16Wild Steelbloom,16Stranglekelp,16Leaded Vial

Trainer, at skill 130 · 18s · turns yellow at 155, so the count is an average

Train Expert at 125 or later, before you reach 150. In Forever this recipe is called Elixir of Lesser Defense.

Or: 17× Lesser Troll's Blood Elixir (2 Bruiseweed, 2 Briarthorn, 1 Leaded Vial). Bruiseweed and Briarthorn instead of Wild Steelbloom, if those are cheaper on your realm.

Expert Alchemy150–225

  1. 160–185

Trainer, at skill 160 · 45s · turns yellow at 180, so the count is an average

    17×Greater Mana Potion–17Khadgar's Whisker,17Goldthorn,17Leaded Vial

Trainer, at skill 205 · 81s · turns yellow at 220, so the count is an average

Artisan Alchemy225–300

  1. 230–250

    21×Draught of Detect Undead–21Arthas' Tears,21Crystal Vial

Trainer, at skill 230 · 45s · turns yellow at 245, so the count is an average

Trainer, at skill 240 · 1g 80s · turns yellow at 255, so the count is an average

    Yellow from 255.

Or: 19× Arcane Elixir (1 Blindweed, 1 Goldthorn, 1 Crystal Vial). Blindweed instead of Sungrass, already yellow at 250.

Or: 15× Draught of Detect Demon (2 Gromsblood, 1 Crystal Vial). Orange to 265 but two Gromsblood a craft, a herb raiders will be buying.

  3. 265–295

The recipe is sold by Algernon in the Undercity and Ulthir in Darnassus, in limited supply. Yellow from 275, so the late points are slow; the extra potions are raid stock.

  4. 295–300

    5×Major Mana Potion–15Dreamfoil,10Icecap,5Crystal Vial

Recipe: Major Mana Potion, skill 295 · sold by Magnus Frostwake (Western Plaguelands)

Recipe from Magnus Frostwake at Caer Darrow in the Western Plaguelands, who keeps it in stock. Major Mana Potions are the potion raiders buy every week, so these five pay for themselves.

About this guide

Herbalism is the natural partner. Nearly every step below is herbs plus a vial from an alchemy supplies vendor, and buying the herbs is where the gold goes. If you level both together, the shopping list mostly fills itself while you quest.

WoW Forever launches on 4 November 2026, so this guide is a work in progress. Skill colours, reagents and craft counts come from the beta client, so they are what Forever ships today but can still change, and the beta stops short of Artisan, so the top of the route is computed rather than played. Craft counts include the extra crafts a recipe needs once it turns yellow. Trainer locations and learn levels are Classic's, adjusted where Forever moved a recipe. We rebuild the guide whenever the client changes.

Alchemy trainers

Any trainer starts you off and most teach Journeyman. Expert and Artisan are taught by fewer, marked in your faction's colour. Hover a coordinate for its TomTom command.

Alchemy camp objects

Camping is new in Forever: a campfire built by a cook, with room for objects each profession makes. Anyone resting at the camp gets their effects.

  • Mana Well from skill 20

    29 Mana every 5 sec

  • Fermenter from skill 140

    Makes certain Alchemy reagents

  • Alchemy Laboratory from skill 300

Needed for the most advanced Alchemy recipes

Where the healing potions went

Forever moved all six healing potions, from Minor to Major, out of Alchemy and into First Aid, and changed their recipes on the way: each now takes cooking spices alongside the herb. That is the single biggest change to the profession, and it is why a Classic alchemy guide sends you to recipes your trainer no longer has. The healing potion steps above are replaced with mana potions and elixirs that sit in the same skill ranges.

Alchemy kept one family of healing potions: the Discolored ones, made with a Murloc Eye. They come from recipes rather than the trainer and heal less, so they are not leveling material. If you want to make the real thing, it is a First Aid job now, and every character can learn First Aid without spending a profession slot.

Merchant's Favor recipes

Forever adds two trade camps, the Azeroth Commerce Authority for the Alliance and Durotar Supply and Logistics for the Horde. Handing in supply crates there earns Merchant's Favor, and the camp vendors sell recipes for it. Alchemy has the most of any profession that matters for raiding: whole new lines of Cleric's, Mageblood, Spellblasting, Frenzy and Mender's potions, plus smog potions and elixirs that did not exist in Classic.

They are poor leveling recipes. Most go from yellow to grey in five points, so they cost a lot of Favor for a handful of skill. Buy them for what they make. The one worth knowing for leveling is Major Frenzy Potion, orange from 290, if you have the Favor and do not have a Major Mana Potion recipe.

What to make at 300

The first raid wave opens on 9 December 2026, and raid groups run on consumables: Major Mana Potions, Greater Arcane Elixirs, Elixirs of the Mongoose and the flasks. Classic's five flasks are all in Forever's client. Forever adds four more, the Flasks of Natural Accuracy, Aggression, Precision and Swiftness, built on new herbs (Death Lotus, Demonsage and Marefoil) and taught by recipe items.

Forever also gives alchemists an Alchemy Laboratory to build at camp at skill 300, and the client says the most advanced alchemy recipes need one. Which recipes count as most advanced is not spelled out yet. Treat the flasks as needing it until the game says otherwise.

Frequently asked questions

How do you level alchemy from 1 to 300 in WoW Forever?

Minor Arcane Elixirs to 10, Elixirs of Minor Defense to 55, then trainer mana potions and elixirs up to 265, Superior Mana Potions to 295 and five Major Mana Potions to finish. It is a little over 300 crafts, all from trainer and vendor recipes.

Can alchemists make healing potions in WoW Forever?

Not the normal ones. Forever moved Minor through Major Healing Potions to First Aid, with spices added to each recipe. Alchemy keeps only the weaker Discolored Healing Potions.

What profession goes with alchemy?

Herbalism. Almost every alchemy recipe is herbs plus a vial, so herbalism turns the biggest cost of leveling into something you pick up while questing.

Where do you learn Artisan alchemy in WoW Forever?

In Classic it is Rogvar in Stonard, Swamp of Sorrows, for the Horde and Kylanna Windwhisper at Feathermoon Stronghold, Feralas, for the Alliance, at skill 200 and level 35. The beta stops at level 30, so nobody has trained it in Forever yet.

How many alchemy recipes are new in WoW Forever?

Over 70 of the roughly 180 in the current beta client. Most are the new elixir and potion lines sold for Merchant's Favor, plus dyes, the camp objects and four new flasks.

What does the alchemy camp object do?

The Mana Well, available from skill 20, gives everyone resting at the camp mana regeneration, 29 mana every 5 seconds at level 60, in the same slot as Blessing of Wisdom. At 140 alchemists can build a Fermenter, and at 300 an Alchemy Laboratory.

Is alchemy worth taking in WoW Forever?

For raiders, yes: raids open on 9 December 2026 and consume flasks and potions every week. As a money maker it pays best from December onwards, when that demand becomes permanent.

What is the alchemy skill cap in WoW Forever?

300, as in Classic. The Legacy System gives an account-wide Legacy Point for reaching 150, 225 and 300.
