How the 9/0/42 build works
Retribution to Twist of Light, the tree's new final talent, with Conviction, Vengeance, Seal of Command and Repentance on the way. Forever also adds Holy Conduit, Sanctified Judgement, Sacred Arbiter, Champion of the Light and Instrument of Law, and this build takes all five.
Nine Holy points go to Divine Strength and Forever's Improved Seals. The alternative stops Retribution at 33 points for a deeper Holy side.

Levels 10–19

Levels 20–29
Seal of Command at 20. Sanctified Judgement returns 60% of the judged seal's mana, Pursuit of Justice is 15% run speed, Sacred Arbiter makes Holy Strike hit 20% harder and refresh your Judgements, and Vindication weakens what you hit.
Levels 30–40
Vengeance stacks up to 9% damage after crits, Two-Handed Weapon Specialization adds 6%, Improved Judgement shortens Judgement's cooldown, and Champion of the Light turns Intellect into spell damage. Twist of Light at 40 makes seals cheaper and keeps the old seal's effect for one swing when you change seals.
Levels 41–60
Holy for Divine Strength, Improved Seals (15% more seal and Judgement damage) and Divine Intellect, Purifying Power for faster Exorcisms, then Eye for an Eye and Instrument of Law back in Retribution.

Questions
What are the best Ret Paladin talents in WoW Forever?
Our recommended Retribution Paladin build is 9/0/42: Two-hander Retribution to Twist of Light. It is one of the Forever sim's preset builds. Nobody has played a level 60 yet, so treat it as a starting point until launch on 4 November.
Are WoW Forever's Retribution talents the same as Classic's?
No. Forever's Retribution tree has 17 talents, and 6 of them do not exist in Classic: Holy Conduit, Sanctified Judgement, Sacred Arbiter, Champion of the Light, Instrument of Law and Twist of Light. Another 7 have different ranks, positions or numbers. The tree is still seven rows deep, and each row still needs five points spent above it.
What is the Retribution 31-point talent in WoW Forever?
Twist of Light, which is new in Forever. Reduces the Mana cost of your Seal spells by 20%, and when you replace your Seal of Command, Seal of Righteousness, Seal of Fury, or Seal of Justice with a different Seal, you gain an Echo of that Seal. Your next melee attack applies the replaced Seal's effects, consuming the Echo.
What is the best Retribution Paladin leveling build in WoW Forever?
Ours takes one point a level from 10 to 60 with no respec and ends at 15/0/36. It picks up Seal of Command at 20, Sacred Arbiter at 25 and Twist of Light at 40. The full order is on this page.
How many talent points do you get in WoW Forever?
51 at level 60, one per level from level 10, as in Classic. The Legacy perk Talented starts them at level 5 instead, which matters for alts while levelling.
Where does this talent data come from?
From the WoW Forever beta client's own talent tables (build 1.60.1.70338), not from Classic. Every tooltip on this page is rendered from the client's spell data, and we checked them against the numbers the beta's own tooltips show. The trees can still change before launch.
