How a Beast Mastery Hunter gears
In Classic a hunter's pet did not inherit any of the hunter's stats. Beast Mastery's strength was the pet's own talents, which is why it was the levelling and PvP spec and fell behind in raids where pets died to area damage.
Whether Forever changes pet scaling is one of the first things to check on its talents. If pets start inheriting stats, the Beast Mastery list changes completely.
- Your gear does not improve your pet in Classic rules. Gear for your own shots.
- Keep the pet fed and alive: it is a larger share of your damage than in the other two specs.

What is the Beast Mastery Hunter BiS list in WoW Forever?
There is no confirmed list yet. Raid loot is published with the raids on 9 December 2026, and the level 55–60 dungeon tables are not in the beta. This page carries the stat priority now and adds each phase's items as they are datamined.
What is the Beast Mastery Hunter stat priority?
Under Classic rules: Ranged weapon damage, then Hit (to the cap), then Agility, then Critical strike, then Attack power. Forever has not published its talents, so this is Classic's order until it does.
What is the Beast Mastery Hunter hit cap?
Ranged hit: about 9%. The same miss chance as melee specials. Ranged attacks carry no dual-wield penalty, so hit stops adding value at the cap.
Can I use a Classic Beast Mastery Hunter BiS list for WoW Forever?
Only as a guide to stats. Blizzard reworked the loot of every dungeon boss for Forever, raising unique boss items to blue and changing others, and two of the three raids are new. Classic item names may come back with different stats.
When will the Beast Mastery Hunter pre-raid BiS be known?
The dungeon half from mid-November 2026, once level 55–60 loot is datamined after the 4 November launch. Raid items from 9 December 2026.
What armour does a Hunter wear?
Mail from level 40, leather before. Weapons: Bows, guns and crossbows; axes, swords, polearms, staves, daggers and fist weapons for stats.
