Mage BiS lists for WoW Forever

Mages are the simplest class to gear: spell damage, spell hit and crit, in cloth that every caster also wants. The spec decides which school matters and how much crit is worth.
Forever adds Orc mages and Alliance Skyborne mages. Frost carried most early Classic raids; Fire took over once gear improved and fire resistance on bosses fell.

Questions
Is Fire or Frost better for a mage in WoW Forever raids?
Unknown until raid tuning is published. In Classic, Frost carried early raids and Fire took over as gear improved. They share almost the same gear, so you can swap specs without regearing.
Is there a Mage BiS list for WoW Forever yet?
No. Raid loot is published with the raids on 9 December 2026 and the level 55–60 dungeon tables are not in the beta. Each spec page carries its stat priority now and gains its item list as each phase is datamined.
What armour and weapons can a Mage use?
Cloth. Daggers, one-handed swords, staves and wands.
