Between a dungeon and a raid
Upper Blackrock Spire is the odd instance out in Classic's design: ten players, a dragonkin-heavy roster, and an endgame feel that no five-man matches. It ends at General Drakkisath, and the run through the rookery and the Hall of Blackhand is where most characters first meet content that expects organisation rather than just gear. It is also where the phrase 'Leeroy Jenkins' came from, which tells you most of what you need to know about how the rookery goes wrong.
Why this is the most booked classic run in November
With the first raid wave opening 9 December 2026 and unique dungeon boss items in Forever being blue rather than purple, UBRS sits exactly where it always did — the final gearing stop that makes a character worth a raid seat. Ten players is also hard to assemble casually, which is the other half of why it is bought rather than pugged. Expect this to be the most contested classic booking on the site in the weeks before the raid opening.
What to check before booking
Whether the run includes the full route to Drakkisath or stops earlier, because partial UBRS runs exist and are priced lower for a reason. Whether loot priority applies to your class. And the date — a ten-player booking is a scheduling commitment for the seller, so a confirmed date in the order thread is worth more here than on any five-man. Blizzard has not confirmed whether Forever retunes the instance or its group size, so ask a seller who has run it in beta.
Ten people is the real constraint
Everything difficult about booking UBRS comes back to assembling ten players on a date. That is why sellers with a standing roster quote confidently here and sellers without one quote vaguely, and it is why the completed-order count is a better signal than the star rating on this instance specifically. A seller who has delivered a dozen of these has a rota; one who has delivered two has friends.
