- Step 2
Pay into escrow

Talk to the seller in your order thread. Nothing reaches them until you confirm the work is done.
Nobody levels engineering for the gold
Engineering is the profession that does not pay for itself, and everybody who has one knows it. What it produces instead is utility: gadgets, explosives, goggles, and a collection of situational items that make PvP and dungeon runs easier in ways no other profession replicates. That makes it a strange thing to buy — you are paying for capability rather than for an asset — and it means the useful question to ask a seller is not 'how fast' but 'does the route leave me able to make the things I actually want'.
Gnomish or goblin, and why it is not reversible cheaply
Classic's engineering splits into Gnomish and Goblin specialisations at high skill, each locking a different set of recipes, and switching afterwards is a deliberate chore. Goblin has historically been the PvP-leaning choice and Gnomish the utility one. If you are buying a boost, decide before the seller reaches the split and put it in the order thread — this is the single most common source of a 'the order was completed but I got the wrong thing' complaint in this category, and it is entirely avoidable.
The Legacy angle
One confirmed WoW Forever detail worth knowing: the Legacy System includes a Professions tree, and engineering is one of the six crafting professions that pay a Legacy Point at 150, 225 and 300. Legacy progression is account-wide — 65 points earnable at launch, 16 spendable per character — so profession work on any character contributes to a pool the rest of your roster can spend. The Professions tree's perks, as the beta shows them, are general ones: faster skill-ups, more from gathering nodes, cheaper vendors. None is specific to engineering.

Frequently asked questions
Is engineering worth levelling in WoW Forever?
For utility rather than income. It is the profession that does not pay for itself, and the reason to have it is the gadgets, explosives and situational items nothing else makes.
Gnomish or goblin engineering?
They lock different recipe sets and switching later is a chore. Goblin has traditionally been the PvP-leaning choice, Gnomish the utility one — decide before the seller reaches the split and put it in the order thread.
Do I need mining as well?
Engineering runs on ore and parts, so mining is the usual pairing. Without it, expect the materials to be the larger half of the quote.
Does the Legacy System help professions?
There is a confirmed Professions tree in the Legacy System and Increasing Tradeskills is a published Legacy Challenge category. The individual perks have not been detailed, so no seller can tell you what they do yet.
How long does engineering 1–300 take?
The live delivery windows from sellers are shown above. Engineering is mid-pack for speed — slower than a gathering profession, faster than enchanting, and heavily dependent on whether mats are supplied.
