The mats are the price
Blacksmithing eats ore in quantities that surprise people who have only levelled gathering professions. Every ten points of skill is another stack of bars, and the bars come from ore that either you mine or somebody buys. This is why two blacksmithing listings can differ by a factor of three: one is a service where you post the materials and the seller does the clicking, and the other is a package where the seller sources everything. Neither is wrong, and comparing them on price alone is meaningless. Check which you are looking at before anything else.
What it is actually for at 60
Blacksmithing at the cap is about plate and weapons for yourself and a crafting income from others. It is also the profession with the most meaningful specialisation choice in Classic's design — Armorsmith or Weaponsmith, picked at high skill and awkward to change — and that choice determines which recipes you can ever learn. A seller levelling the profession for you should ask which one you want before they get near the split. If they do not ask, raise it in the order thread yourself, because reversing it is expensive.
Recipes, blueprints and the Legacy tree
Not every recipe comes from a trainer. Blueprint recipes — Forever's camping recipes — drop from dungeon bosses, which means a fully useful blacksmith is a levelling job plus a hunting job, and the second half is priced separately on the recipe hunts page. The Legacy System also includes a Professions tree, with Increasing Tradeskills as one of the six published Legacy Challenge categories; the individual perks in that tree have not been detailed, so treat any seller describing specific profession bonuses as speculating.

Should I pair blacksmithing with mining?

Yes. The beta's Legacy Challenges set the milestones for every crafting profession at 150, 225 and 300, and each of those is an account-wide Legacy Point for blacksmithing.
Do I need to hand over my account?
For profession levelling, usually yes on a piloted order, which is why some sellers offer a mats-and-mail arrangement instead. Ask — this is the category where piloted is most common and least necessary to accept blindly.
