How buying works
- Step 1
Choose an offer
Compare verified sellers on price, rate and delivery window. Every seller here was approved by staff before they could list.
- Step 2
Pay into escrow
Card, handled by Stripe. The money is held by us — the seller can see the order is funded and nothing more.
- Step 3
Get it, then release
Talk to the seller in your order thread. Nothing reaches them until you confirm the work is done.
The profession that rides along
Skinning is unique among gathering professions in that it does not need a route. It needs corpses, and a character levelling through the world produces those continuously. That is why skinning is the cheapest profession boost on this site and why buying it on its own is usually the wrong call — bundled into a leveling order it is nearly free, and bought separately you are paying someone to go and kill things specifically to skin them.
What it is actually worth
Leather sits below ore and herbs in most Classic economies, because supply is incidental rather than deliberate — everyone skinning while levelling floods the low tiers. The value concentrates at the top end, where the hides come from creatures people do not casually farm. A skinning boost to 300 gets you access to that top tier; it does not get you the materials, which is a separate order. Be clear which one you are buying, because the words used in listings are often the same.
Timing it with the launch
WoW Forever launches 4 November 2026 with a completely fresh economy, and leather behaves differently in the first fortnight than it does later: everyone is levelling, everyone is skinning, and prices at the low tiers collapse early. If the point of the profession is income rather than feeding your own leatherworking, the useful skill level is the high one and the useful time to have it is after the first rush rather than during it. Sellers will happily schedule around that if you tell them why.
What to specify
Very little, which is the point: a skill target and a delivery window. The one thing worth adding to the order thread is whether the leather produced along the way is yours or the seller's, because on a levelling route that is a non-trivial quantity of material and sellers assume different defaults. It costs nothing to agree in advance and it is the only thing that goes wrong here.

Frequently asked questions
Is a skinning boost worth buying on its own?
Rarely. Skinning levels itself off corpses you were already producing, so bundling it into a leveling order costs almost nothing while buying it standalone pays someone to farm deliberately.
Does skinning make good gold?
At the top tiers, yes. The low tiers are flooded because everyone skins while levelling, so the value is in hides from creatures people do not casually farm.
Does it include the leather?
No — the boost is the skill. Materials are a separate farming order, and listings sometimes use similar wording for both, so check.
What does skinning pair with?
Leatherworking, which it supplies directly. The pair is the cheapest crafting-plus-gathering combination in the game to level together.
When should I have it finished?
If it is for income, after the launch rush rather than during it — low-tier leather prices collapse in the first fortnight after 4 November 2026 while everyone levels at once.
